“Being named Artist-in-Residence at the Hispanic Society of New York for 2025 has been a true honor. As part of this residency, I have devised and performed four recitals under the title ‘Transcriptions’—a project that has fostered a space for reflection, dialogue, and artistic creation alongside incredible colleagues whose commitment has deeply enriched every program”.

PRÉLUDE

“Prélude” is Antonio Galera’s debut recital. Recorded in 2018 at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada and released by IBS Classical in 2019, it has received critical acclaim (Melómano de Oro, Joker Découverte Crescendo).

CORDES

“CORDES” alludes to both the strings of the piano and guitar and the human vocal cords. Released by ARIA classics, the album sees Antonio Galera explore the sonic and expressive connections between these instruments through works deeply rooted in the Hispanic and Hispano-American musical tradition. Featuring music by Falla, Ginastera, Coll, Asencio, and Sánchez Benimeli, Galera reaffirms his commitment to recovering and promoting musical heritage, highlighting voices that are essential to understanding the sonic identity of the Hispanic world.

“CORDES” alude tanto a las cuerdas del piano y la guitarra como a las cuerdas vocales. Editado por ARIA classics, Antonio Galera explora los vínculos sonoros y expresivos entre ambos instrumentos a través de obras profundamente arraigadas en la tradición musical hispánica e hispanoamericana. Con músicas de Falla, Ginastera, Coll, Asencio y Sánchez Benimeli, Galera reafirma su compromiso con la recuperación y difusión del patrimonio musical, poniendo en valor algunas de las voces esenciales para comprender la identidad sonora del mundo hispánico.
